THE CITY of Cambridge could be one of the boom areas for electric motoring, according to the chief executive of Pod Point, Erik Fairbairn.

In an interview with the Cambridge News, Mr Fairbairn said: ‘The price of electric cars is coming down and Cambridge, like London, is one of the places where people are really into new technology.

‘The price of fuel is also going up and electric power is six times cheaper than using petrol or diesel.’

Pod Point is the firm which is providing charge-up points as part of the Government-funded Plugged-in Places scheme. The east of England has been identified as a priority region by the Plugged in Places scheme, as we’ve reported before on Pure-driving.
